Do I Need My Own Motorcycle And Safety Gear To Learn To Ride?
Training Requirements at RMT Motorcycle Training: Motorcycle and Safety Gear
Preparing for Your Motorcycle Training
When enrolling in a motorcycle training course at RMT Motorcycle Training, understanding the requirements for motorcycles and safety gear is essential.
We aim to make your training experience as smooth and safe as possible, providing some equipment and detailing what you must bring to ensure compliance with safety standards.
Motorcycle Requirements
No Need for Personal Motorcycles
Trainees are not required to own or bring a motorcycle to participate in our courses. RMT Motorcycle Training provides a range of motorcycles suitable for various training levels, from beginner to advanced classes.
Benefits of Using Provided Bikes
Using our motorcycles has several advantages, including the assurance that the bikes are well-maintained, insured, and appropriate for the training exercises.
This also removes the barrier to entry for new riders who may not yet have purchased a bike.
Safety Gear Requirements
Essential Riding Gear – Helmet
All trainees must bring their own helmets. It is crucial that the helmet fits properly and meets current safety standards to ensure maximum protection.
Jacket and Gloves
A durable motorcycle jacket and gloves are required for all trainees. These items are essential for protection against abrasions and in case of falls.
Footwear
Proper footwear is necessary to safely operate the motorcycle’s controls. If you do not own motorcycle boots, sturdy non-steel toe capped boots, such as Dr. Martens or Rockport, are acceptable.
These boots should provide enough support and protection while allowing comfortable operation of the gear lever.
Additional Gear Provided – Waterproof Gear
RMT Motorcycle Training provides high-quality waterproof gear to all trainees. This gear helps ensure that you remain dry, warm, and focused, particularly in adverse weather conditions.
The provision of such gear is part of our commitment to your comfort and success during training sessions.
Why These Requirements Matter
Safety, Comfort and Protection
The primary reason for strict safety gear requirements is protection. Motorcycle training involves risk, and the proper gear significantly reduces the likelihood of injury.
Comfort
Comfortable and suitable gear enhances the learning experience. Being well-equipped for various weather conditions allows trainees to focus on learning rather than being distracted by discomfort or being inadequately dressed for the weather.
Compliance with Regulations
Meeting safety gear requirements also ensures compliance with national safety standards and regulations, which is crucial for legal and insurance purposes during training.
Equipped for Success
At RMT Motorcycle Training, we take care of providing motorcycles to eliminate any barriers to entry for trainees and ensure that all equipment used is up to the highest standards of safety and maintenance.
However, it is equally important that trainees come prepared with the necessary safety gear to protect themselves. This dual approach to equipment and safety gear ensures that every aspect of your training is covered, allowing you to focus on developing your riding skills in a safe and supportive environment.
